David Coverdale outdoes himself with this band. He manages to transition from hard rock to blues to glammy, sleazy pop metal in an astonishing way, always surrounding himself with top-notch musicians (see Steve Vai, Jon Lord, Mickey Mood, Mel Galley, Bernie Mardsen, Ian Paice, Adrian Vandenberg, Tommy Aldridge, and many others).
