He will be remembered for having written the theme for the helicopter attack in the film "Apocalypse Now." He died 24 hours before the screening at Madison Square Garden (if I’m not mistaken)...

Ludwig van Beethoven

Ludwig van Beethoven (1770–1827) was a German composer and pianist whose work bridges the Classical and Romantic eras. He is especially known for his symphonies, piano sonatas, concertos, chamber music, and for continuing to compose after losing his hearing.
