Friends of Dean Martinez are an American instrumental group from Tucson, Arizona, led by steel guitarist Bill Elm. Early lineups included Joey Burns and John Convertino (Calexico/Giant Sand). Their music blends Morricone-inspired western atmospheres, Tex-Mex colors, and post-rock textures, evolving from 1990s desert-lounge toward more experimental work in the 2000s.
