Maureen Tucker

the first woman in a rock band, she was mistaken for a male because of her somewhat unfeminine appearance. she replaces angus maclise and makes a fundamental contribution to the velvet sound even though she is the most overlooked member, a great drummer and one of lou's best friends, basically a great one.

Maureen “Moe” Tucker is an American drummer and singer best known as the drummer for The Velvet Underground. Renowned for a minimalist, tom‑heavy approach often played standing up, she later released solo albums including Playin’ Possum (1981) and rejoined The Velvet Underground for their 1993 reunion.
