Isabel Allende

Isabel Allende is a Chilean-American author whose work blends magical realism with political and historical themes. She debuted with The House of the Spirits (1982) after an earlier career in journalism. Born in 1942, she later settled in the United States and became a U.S. citizen in 2003.
