With "ËMËHNTËHTT-RÉ", Magma consolidates the conclusion of a second trilogy, initiated in the '70s with the previous one called "Theusz Hamtaak". In those years, the only studio realization had been "Kohntarkosz". The new century saw the need to complete this trilogy, with the release of "K.A" in 2004 and now, "Ëmëhntëtt-Ré".
The concept, through its darkly evocative notes, transports us to the visionary peaks of the pharaoh Ëmëhntëhtt-Rê, a being illuminated by the desire for the world's redemption, whose prophecy was cut short by the assassin's blade before it could blossom. The opening of the tomb by Köhntarkösz becomes the crossroads where the pharaoh, like a wandering spirit, merges with the body of his liberator, shaping his prophetic vision through this new incarnation.

"ËMËHNTËHTT-RÉ" manifests as a fluid story, a sonic continuum that unfolds like a dream without a solution of continuity. The four epic tracks titled "Ëmëhntëhtt-Ré I-IV" stand as supporting pillars, reminding Magma followers how the genesis of this work (“Ëmëhntëtt-Ré 1”, “Rindö”, “Ëmëhntëtt-Ré 2”, “Hhai” and “Zombies” are well-known pieces) can be found in "Live" from 1975, in various bootlegs, and in some studio albums like "Attahk" and "Udu Wudu". The opening of the first track evokes a menacing chant, accompanied by the reverberation of piano and drums, inaugurating an impressionistic journey. The music envelops and swells, maintaining an aura of unpredictability, while the bass and piano lift the melody in the second part, revealing fleeting soul influences before diving into a fast and lively whirlpool. The vibraphone, in an astral ballet of prog-jazz, adds lightness to the sound texture, culminating with the essence of "Hhaï", previously only performed live. The third part rises with a haunting choir, anticipating one of the most memorable moments in the group's history. Subtlety dominates this section, playing with calm in the early minutes, cultivating a sense of impending doom. The fourth part, on the contrary, manifests as a softer and more delicate experience, with "Funëhrarïum Kanht" evoking a haunting atmosphere, perfect for haunted mansions. Finally, "Sêhë" closes the circle with a composition of dissonant keys and spoken Kobaïan language, an epilogue that dissolves into a symphony of strange dreams and prophetic visions.

Magma brings to life an extraordinary new album, even surpassing the heights previously reached with "K.A". "ËMËHNTËHTT-RÉ" stands as an even more significant milestone in the Zeuhl universe, granting this extraordinary band's discography a role of absolute excellence and confirming their constant ability to surprise.
