THE REVIEW

No title was more fitting... "Cold" represents the ice, the immobility of polar landscapes, the frozen atmospheres. It's difficult to describe in words the music (Dark-Ambient?) and the sounds of this uniquely rarefied album. The album unfolds at slow, hypnotic tempos, guaranteed by a drum machine programmed in a masterfully glacial way. The rest of the sound is based on intertwining synths with a distorted yet delicate, cold, and enveloping guitar. Completing the dreamlike picture are the mystical and profound voices of Tara Vanflower and Mike VanPortfleet. Among the nine tracks of this homogenous work, "Bare" stands out, evoking such strange, alien sensations. It will transport you... elsewhere...
