New EP by Luna, more than an EP it's something halfway between an EP and an LP, since it contains 7 songs and two videos (ipse dixit Sean Eden live). Of the seven, 2 are covers: "Waiting On A Friend" written by Jagger/Richards and "Neon Lights" (Hutter, Bartos/Schneider = Kraftwerk). The Kraftwerk cover had already appeared on the B-side of "Superfreaky Memories" and is simply re-proposed here. Of the 5 new songs, "Astronaut" has a bass line à la New Order, "Teenage Lightning" is based on a solitary guitar, which stops at each turn... However, these are not immediate Luna compositions, as in their splendid perfect pop moments, they are part of the more "twisted" type, but with each listen, a certain familiarity slowly reveals itself. You just have to let them in. And perhaps they awaken the curiosity of some Stones fans. The videos are beautiful, never seen on TV, "Lovedust" and "1995", a nice extra. "I'm not waiting on a lady, I'm just waiting on a friend"

Tracklist and Lyrics

01   Astronaut (04:00)

I wanna plug you in
I wanna get you things
Send you a pentagram
Feed you diazepam
I wanna play the game
I wanna live again
I wanna bend your spoons and make your
Silver shine

I'll wear a stylin' mustache
You'll wear a frozen smile
We'll run like Tamil Tigers
We'll drink the poison vial
I'm not the Jack of diamonds
I'm not the six of spades
I don't know what you thought
I'm not your astronaut

Because our surly stare
Is so revealing
Because your feet are bare
My eyes are peeling
Because your mistletoe
Because I gamble
Because I told you so
My eyes are scrambled
