"Stanze" by Ludovico Einaudi was released in 1992 and is an album of sixteen tracks for electric harp composed by Ludovico Einaudi and performed by Cecilia Chailly, one of the most acclaimed harpists on the Italian music scene.

The album was released after the experimental debut "Time out" and, unlike it, presents itself as a very minimalist record (the tracks are played only by the harp, and sometimes by electric bass and piano) and essential in music and arrangements, with ample spaces given to silence and slow musical rhythms. It is an ambient/new age journey that Einaudi offers in this work, a journey that at times transports us into arcane Irish sea caves, bathed in transparent water and flooded with light, sometimes into darker and more distressing caverns; at other times it feels like we're walking lightly in the sun-filled air of spring mornings. The sound of the harp, ethereal by nature, greatly contributes to conveying these sensations, and at the end of the listening, the listener will be, in my opinion, completely, or almost, relaxed and at peace with the world, even if perhaps for the span of only forty, fifty minutes...

To be listened to perhaps on a bed, lying down with eyes closed...
