Often, it's not the second album that's the most difficult "in an artist's career," but the third: it happened to Nirvana ("In Utero"), REM ("Fables Of The Reconstruction"), Oasis ("Be Here Now"), to name a few examples. And often it happened that those snubbed and underrated albums gained value only after a long time and became, many times, the milestones of an artist's career. It also happened to Liga with "Sopravvissuti e Sopravviventi," the darkest of the Romagnolo's productions... the first two albums were rock but had that very soft sound; this one, however, is rock, pure and simple... the Liga (or rather, the Clan-destino) goes all out here, delivering some songs that brush against hard rock (but they brush against it from a distance, clearly...).
Lucianone knows he is a survivor but, lost or not, he is "still standing." It's a more assertive rock right from the first track; sharper and more distorted riffs and a more sustained rhythm even in the second track where Liga reassures everyone by saying there's something right for each of us. "Ho messo via" is a perfect ballad: a 12-string intertwined with a piano that follows the raspy voice of the leader; then comes in the drums and a distorted guitar solo that fits perfectly, and then the legendary Demo Morselli (perhaps at the time he wasn't hanging out with that mobster Costanzo) hits us with a simply enchanting trumpet solo... "Dove Fermano i Treni" is the toughest song by the Romagnolo and describes the life of some "anonymous protagonists" who find themselves at a station. "I Duri Hanno Due Cuori" is in the same vein as "Bambolina e Barracuda" while "La Ballerina Del Carillion" brings back a bit of calm with its 12-string guitar accompanying the life of a stripper and her admirers. But "Lo Zoo è Qui" with its humorous metaphors between animals and humans, and its pseudo hard rock (listen to the final solo), gives a jolt again and prepares us for another great song: "Piccola Città Eterna" opened by a relaxing string section; it is a song that describes a small town (probably referring to little Correggio) populated by people who love it because it has everything, and those who hate it but will still never leave it... "Walter Il Mago" needs no comments, it simply demands listening. Liga finally advises us not to take it too hard when we feel unlucky because "Quando tocca a te... tocca a te."
The instrumental and moving closing track conveys the idea of the dark atmosphere Luciano was breathing at the time and closes (in my opinion) the best Liga album... now Lucianone, having played the same three chords for 15 years, breathes a whole different atmosphere, since "finally" even his music, after being chewed over by all and sundry, has become the soundtrack of a phone commercial... "what a surprise," one might say, huh.
Tracklist Lyrics and Videos
01 Ancora in piedi (04:19)
Sopravvissuti a troppi sorrisi avuti
troppe volte senza un perch
Sopravvissuti alle nostre domande
che son grosse, son tante e spesso ridicole
Sopravvissuti e sopravviventi
cos e adesso e qui
Sopravvissuti ai nostri progetti
acqua sabbia e paletta e castelli cos
Persi o no siamo ancora in piedi
Non so chi, ma qualcuno si
Sentir cos
Persi o no siamo ancora in piedi
Siamo ancora che, siamo ancora chi
Siamo ancora chi, siamo ancora che ne so..
Sopravvissuti ai nostri pensieri
a consigli, sbadigli, falsi sensi unici
Sopravvissuti alle voci gridate,
come ai troppi silenzi, come ai mormorii
Sopravvissuti e sopravviventi
ma chi? E che ne so...
Sopravvissuti ai sensi di colpa
c' chi pu e non ascolta e, cazzo, c' chi non pu
Persi o no siamo ancora in piedi
Non so chi, ma qualcuno si
Sentir cos
Persi o no siamo ancora in piedi
Siamo ancora che, siamo ancora chi
Siamo ancora chi, siamo ancora che ne so..
E' un mare pieno di zattere
 un mare pieno di salvagenti
 un mare con qualche isola
Sopravvissuti a vecchi e nuovi dolori
che aspettiamo i vaccini, nel frattempo chiss
Sopravvissuti a tutto questo letame
quanti bagni e profumi e mascherine antigas
Sopravvissuti e sopravviventi
un po' gi, un po' su, un po' gi
Sopravvissuti ai '60 e ai '70
e gli '80 finiranno mai pi?
Persi o no siamo ancora in piedi
Non so chi, ma qualcuno si
Sentir cos
Persi o no siamo ancora in piedi
Siamo ancora che, siamo ancora chi
Siamo ancora chi, siamo ancora che ne so..

I confirm the many completely negative opinions about Luciano, such as: he plays fake rock; fills his albums with useless and very similar tracks; eases his efforts with easy choruses.
Ligabue shows that, by applying himself, he could have achieved something decent. And the following albums have instead led to all the negativity (entirely justified!) that has surrounded his character.

"At 18, you make great mistakes: and overestimating Liga was a more than sensational mistake."
"Music had an emotional value, and it didn’t matter if it was good or bad: and if I think about it, tears come to my eyes."
By Bleak
Ligabue has never invented and will never invent anything, and one could well ask him, instead of 'how much does it cost to pretend to be a star?', 'how much does it cost to test people’s patience infinitely?'
‘Ancora In Piedi’ almost seems to contradict those reviews that spoke of gloom and melancholy with a stubborn statement of survival.

Ligabue decided to scrape the bottom of his drawer full of songs... bringing to light his darker and sadder side.
An album... explicitly anti-aesthetic and hence not very commercial, which indeed did not achieve considerable success in terms of sales.
