Uh-oh! We are informed that this review was written by Stefano La Rosa and also appears on VareseNews.it

There could have been no better baptism for Luca Pedroni, a young guitarist from Varese, who presents himself to the public with his first solo album entitled "October".

In an era where electric guitars, distortions, and increasingly sophisticated effects seem to be essential to perform, Luca Pedroni offers an entirely acoustic album in which taste, emotion, and technique emerge right from the first track “April.” Although the young guitarist from Varese is known to the public for his qualities as an electric guitarist of rare skill and virtuosity, in this album he courageously bares himself before the six strings.

Track by track, the romantic soul emerges, unfiltered or wrapped in electronics, but simply conveyed by the vibrations of the strings. The use of open tunings and the skillful use of harmonics enrich the arpeggios of numerous tracks that develop along a path of emotions and sensations of rare taste. In “cavoli e cicogne” and “cerchi nel grano” plucked rhythms and fingerstyle blend, giving the tracks the drive and momentum reminiscent of the unmistakable style of the superlative Tommy Emmanuel. With the last track “October,” which gives the entire album its title, a journey of about thirty-five minutes closes in which the listener is guided by the interlocking of arpeggios and melodies into the romantic and refined world of Luca Pedroni.

I hope that this first album is the starting point for a series of future works where his taste and technique will be able to convey many emotions. In an era where computers and electronics sometimes replace the guitarist, the album by the twenty-five-year-old musician from Varese demonstrates how in the Italian guitar scene there are voices, indeed new fingers capable of prioritizing the feeling and passion that the listener can perceive in the vibrations and timbral nuances of his guitar.
