Luca Dirisio has been chosen to sing the Italian version of "Breaking Free" "Se provi a volare", the main theme of the soundtrack of 'High School Musical', the new Disney movie that has achieved immense success in the United States.
I much prefer Luca's version over the American one. Luca interprets this piece with his sweet voice that is at times also gritty and seductive. This beautiful piece reminds me a lot of the celestial "I believe I can fly" by R. Kelly. "Se provi a volare" is among those pieces you would never tire of listening to! The arrangement is simple, but certainly well-crafted and impactful, together with Luca's voice and interpretation, it offers us a little gem.
The lyrics talk about how dreams can come true with determination and how one should ignore and not care about criticism and those who discourage you, because "you know that the world never accepts you for who you are." "Se provi a volare" will be included in the reissued version of "La vita è strana" (an album half successful for which I have already written reviews), Luca's second album.
