After the debut "Shadows And Fragments" in 2015, the Livorno native Luca Burgalassi returns with a new work, again featuring an elegant rock blues base, fueled by a velvety guitar and his gentle voice, although some more rhythmic passages are not lacking, like "The Turn," a splendid modern country song. "Fields Of Innocence" is pop tinged with soul, enchanting from the first listen. The ten songs are played by a flexible band, with drummer Gianni Apicella and bassist Gianni Bertaccini as the fixed elements, but everyone proves to have embraced their role. A traveler in mind and body, having lived in China for several years and now residing in Virginia, Luca Burgalassi is a musician who places no barriers between himself and the listener. In the acoustic embellishments of "Lone Rider," the rich guitar of "The Sweetest Blues," the ballad "Don’t Waste Your Time," the desire to play not to prove something, but to give and receive something, shines through.
The concluding "Winter Lady," which Luca sings with a fuller voice, exudes that desire for adventure and dreams that only songs can fulfill.
