THE REVIEW

On the third attempt, Jana Hunter manages to produce her pop masterpiece. Among synth-pop revival, dark moods, and a very warm voice.

To die in LA is their sunniest track ever and the Lynchian video brings us back to the dark indie punk mood typical of the Baltimore band. The romanticism of the second single and track of the work is intoxicated by vintage keyboards and reverberated guitars, while the pop of Quo Vadis and Your heart is still beating lightens the tone without being trivial.

It closes with La societe' anonyme featuring a guitar sound perfect for a timeless power pop gem, and Jana's voice has never been so deep and enchanting.

This third work by Lower Dens won’t go down in the history of rock, nor is it a radical innovation. But it's an enjoyable and classy album.
