Australian pianist, singer-songwriter and composer. Known for distinctive piano work in the Sydney independent scene and for collaborations with Celibate Rifles, Died Pretty, Laughing Clowns, New Christs, Leonard Cohen, Brian Eno, Charlie Owen, Tex Perkins and Nick Cave. Released seven solo albums starting in 1987. Died 6 August 2023.

 If someone goes to the trouble of spending their money to attend one of my concerts, I think it’s only right to give them two hours of rock in return. I’m not going to show up on stage accompanied by a string quartet. However, I also believe that it’s essential to catch the listener by surprise, to offer them something they don’t expect from me.
