Japanese heavy metal band formed in Osaka in May 1981 by guitarist Akira Takasaki and drummer Munetaka Higuchi. Pioneers of Japanese metal who achieved international attention with albums such as Thunder In The East and Disillusion. Munetaka Higuchi died in 2008.

Founding members: Akira Takasaki (guitar) and Munetaka Higuchi (drums). Classic lineup included Minoru Niihara (vocals) and Masayoshi Yamashita (bass). Thunder In The East was their first American breakthrough; Disillusion was recorded in London and released in both Japanese and English versions. Disillusion was produced with Julian Mendelsohn and was ranked in Rock Hard magazine's list (290th) and Rolling Stone Japan's list (40th) per the reviews. Thunder In The East was produced by Max Norman. The Law of Devil's Land, Disillusion, Devil Soldier, The Birthday Eve and Thunder In The East are frequently highlighted in DeBaser reviews.
