Out of Space is the debut album by Lost Dogs Laughter, a Roman band featuring Matt Bandini on vocals and guitar, Luk La Grande on bass, and Andrea Vettor on drums (during the recording of this album).
The album was recorded at the Synthesis Recording Studio by Andrea Corvo and Teo Pizzolante, while the mastering was done by Giuseppe Zaccaria at the Rome Mastering Studio.
There are nine tracks that make up Out Of Space:
Sweeter Reaction, the first single from the album, clearly represents the alternative, highly energetic style that distinguishes the band. The same can be found in Honestly, composed of gritty guitars and pounding rhythms.
Go Away introduces us to the first attempt at a ballad in the work, very melancholic, which conveys a sense of disorientation.
Similarly, Words Unknown conveys, through the same distinctly melodic style, a sense of distant and distorted sadness, in perfect Smashing Pumpkins style.
Fade (September 1993) brings the listener's attention back to the guitars, sharp and frenetic, while Fallen Angel combines deep arpeggios with punk riffs that, together with the beautiful vocal harmonies, make the piece one of the most intense of the entire LP.
Am I is the most experimental and quirky track, Out of Space amazes by starting as a typical grunge piece but gradually becoming more melodic and enveloping.
The album closes with The Forgetful, perhaps the one that best showcases the band's great compositional ability, a track that at times reminds of Mars Volta.
