Today I want to talk about the second album by the Lollipops, released on January 24, 2004, titled "Together". An album that achieved little success due to the lack of promotion by their record label, which no longer believed in the "Lollipop" project and therefore released the album quietly, just one day after the release of the single and after numerous postponements. The single in question is "Dreaming of Love", a song not at all suitable to be a single, neither rhythmic nor engaging. The lack of success is immediately evident, given the few television appearances to promote the new work. The single debuted at #50 and, after just one week, exited the charts, and the album did not even figure among the top 70 best-selling albums, selling approximately less than 4,000 copies.
But why did "Together" sell so little?
Besides the already mentioned lack of promotion by their record label (WEA), after Sanremo, the Lollipops had lost all their credibility.
I find Together a more mature album compared to "Popstars", released 3 years earlier.
Together is an album where the 5 girls manage to slightly show off their voices more and where each sings a solo song following their own tastes. WEA could have released another song as a single, the most suitable in my opinion would have been "Love Is Gonna Change", very danceable and catchy.
An album that would have deserved much more.
