LA RECENSIONE

IF THIS ISN'T A #BOP...

On the occasion of its 23rd anniversary, today I want to write a review about this gem of 2000s Italian Pop by the legendary Lollipop.

"Popstar" was released on June 1, 2001, about 3 months after the debut single "Down Down Down," which reached #1 on the singles chart and was certified platinum for selling over 100,000 copies, while the album peaked at #14 on the albums chart and was certified gold, selling over 85,000 copies.

This album is wonderful and full of gems like the lively "Turn Me Around," the dark "This Is the Reason," the energetic "Weekend Lover," and the captivating "I'm Ready This Time," the second-to-last track of the album.

A great mix of sounds and emotions that enriches the life and culture of those who listen to it; after hearing it, you won't be the same anymore.

LONG LIVE LOLLIPOP AND LONG LIVE POPSTARS!!!!

I remind you that on June 7, a new version of "Down Down Down" sung by Marcella will be released!

You all should listen to this great project at least once in your life!

Originality was not their weapon of choice: the group was called Lollipop, the album 'Popstars'.

'Popstars' is one of the most successful pentagrammatic applications of the theories I was talking about. It is the sublimation ... of crap into something intangible like music.
