LA RECENSIONE

I have to say frankly, I am not a great connoisseur of Rock, nor am I of this Rock-band, I have never had the chance to know them in their entirety, but only individually, as souls, words, and characters.

Our first meeting dates back to school days, to the lamented days at the boarding school, far from home, but familiarly accompanied by certain notes, certain chords, a guitar, on certain moonlit nights. It is there, in the dim-lit corridor, in the scarce intimacy of an evening school, where the magic and charm of certain songs are born. Simple but primitive songs, adolescent but not in the sense of raw immaturity, nor really acne-ridden, quite the opposite. Primitivity as instinct, as a desire to go, to travel to still unknown places. Adolescence as an inexhaustible desire for discovery, when Rock, having laid down the arms of protest, stripped of all superstructure, ideology, and doctrine, reincarnates in the figure of a dashing pirate with a sunburnt brown face, an eye patch, and a saber in hand, ready to sail the warm seas of our souls. And while the damp notes sometimes turn blue and red, with a hint of irony, of Funky, the words flow lightly, directed where they must go, simply light but refined words. The themes often lead us through everyday landscapes, graceful maidens stranded along rivers, toward the advent of a journey, without forgetting reflections of particular moments.

The Locura, Airaghi Luciano (vocals - guitar), Porro Alessandro (bass), Antonazzi Mauro (drums), Camurri Flavio (guitar), are the quintessence of the rock of these parts, in them converge the sounds of fathers and contemporary cousins, pleasant references can be found, in live performances, one can even see a young and wild Mick Jagger or relive some classics from the '70s, maybe the Beach Boys.

For some time now their first EP containing 5 tracks has been available, recorded with 7 instruments, 2 guitars (acoustic and electric), three keyboards, 1 bass, drums, and percussion in wave-mixed quality; not an improvised experiment, but the result of years of work and evenings in clubs. Given the good response obtained over the many live evenings, a website http://www.locura.it/ is now active, which due to its young age works only in some parts, in the "forum" section the 5 tracks of the EP are available for download in lower quality.

So slowly, this little boat in the ocean of rock, with its limits and the daring of its crew, tries to make its way with dignity in a national panorama where it seems more like entertainers and mercenaries are rewarded than those who row every day, treading the stage, experiencing music and combinations of notes, magic, colors, and sweat. I still remember Luciano…the brilliant captain of this crew, the lively voice of the troupe, cuddling us there on winter nights, in that corridor, on those stairs, among perfume and dust, making us dream, deluding us about girls, with the moonlit chords of "Premessa a Partire."
