On January 15, 2015, "Gemini," the first solo LP by Livio Della Gala, was released. An excellent work. For a debut album, it is a true splendor. Two discs, one dedicated to original tracks and one to tributes that have contributed to the artist's musical growth. Gemini is very unique, exclusively acoustic, devoid of percussion and filled with artist collaborations. In the first disc, we immediately face excellent tracks such as "Arise and shine," the new versions of "Aurora borealis" and "Sadness of the moon," and then we find ourselves at the enchanting "Metamorphosis of the vampire." As we continue listening, we encounter "Staring through another room" (featuring the Roman heavy metal band Lady Reaper), a track that will surely make history.
We begin listening to the three tracks that compose the title-track: Gemini. Three enchanting tracks, for listening and emotional moments. In "Gemini I," it is worth noting the presence of Renzo Stacchi, the famous voice actor, who performs a piece from "La divina commedia." At the end of the disc, the track "Staring through another room" is presented again in an exclusively instrumental version.
The second disc, as already mentioned, dedicated to covers, is absolutely incredible; different musical genres are performed, always in an acoustic (or almost) style.
Here is the tracklist of CD2:
-"By this river" - Brian Eno

-"In this river" - Black Label Society
-"Please please please let me get what I want" - The Smiths

Finally, it can be declared without a shadow of a doubt that "Gemini" is a masterpiece. A fantastic meeting of different musical genres, which blend together thanks to the incredible skill of Livio Della Gala and his collaborators.
The recording work at TheLab studio in Rome is also excellent.
