THE REVIEW

I return to the realm of Italian progressive with another legendary album: "Living Music - To Allen Ginsberg".

This is also a unique album recorded in 1972 by the brilliant minds of the Italian group "Murple", collaborating directly with the beat generation poet and writer "Allen Ginsberg". An eclectic, transversal album in search of spirituality as it incorporates many Indian and Eastern sounds. 9 tracks in a total of 30 minutes: "Howl", "Off On", "Song", "Om Shri Maitreya", "Haiku", "Lysergic Acid", "Mandala", "1968", and "Mantra".

Romantic and evocative are the song arrangements: the talented "Umberto Santucci" on keyboards and his brother "Cicci" on sax and flute. The tracks are predominantly acoustic, accompanied by the charismatic voice of "Gianfranca Montedoro". Clear and sentimental atmospheres with classic dark interruptions. The central theme of the album is prayer. To be listened and re-listened to all in one breath in solitude.

Excellent work, but it’s a pity that it leans heavily towards communism... well, just see to whom it's dedicated!
