Liturgy is an American experimental/avant-garde black metal band from Brooklyn, formed in 2005 and led by Hunter Hunt-Hendrix. Known for a self-styled “transcendental black metal” approach, the group’s work—especially Aesthethica—has been both acclaimed and hotly debated.

Formed in Brooklyn in 2005 by Hunter Hunt-Hendrix. Releases include Renihilation (2009), Aesthethica (2011), The Ark Work (2015), H.A.Q.Q. (2019), Origin of the Alimonies (2020), and 93696 (2023), with albums released on labels including Thrill Jockey.
