LA RECENSIONE

This Limp Bizkit single will definitely piss off quite a few reviewers, or those damn wannabes, who think they're something by reviewing "cultured stuff." Well, their musical "myopia" means they can't see the playful side. I order the CD online, and when it arrives at my house, it's exactly what I expected, the Limp Bizkit single released in 2000, titled "Rollin'." The disc contains three tracks, which is enough to define an era. The first track is the main one, the one that gives the CD its title. It's a rap-rock, rap-metal bomb, or whatever the hell you want to call it, with the singer's cocky voice, DJ scratches, and an ultra-distorted guitar tuned 1, 2 tones lower. It's one of the most ignorant and trashy songs I've ever heard, but it kicks ass. The second track is like a remix of the first with a bit of sampled electronics and a nice duet with two other rappers, embellishing the purchase. The third is a live version of "Take a Look Around," another big-hit single from the band. In the live version, the guitar is even more pissed off, and at the end of the live show, the group's DJ puts on a hypnotic loop. By the way, the CD features the legendary "Parental Advisory" sticker because the tracks are not "clean" like the video versions or the ones aired on the radio, but they contain all the swear words originally present in the lyrics.
