Slowflash will be released on September 30th, the first musical effort by the Trieste-based band Limes. With some high-profile openings behind them (Motel Connection and Mojomatics, not entirely in line with our music) and a career still to be built ahead: here are the premises to introduce an album that, although unripe, shows a good compositional ability from the first notes. Many interesting insights, straddling classic brit pop ("Hunting Party", a potential hit), echoes of the early Strokes, some American-style turns à la Bright Eyes ("Tunng", which can definitely be considered one of the best episodes of the album, and "White") and flights of fancy in the style of Bloc Party ("Noise’s Room").

A melancholic, autumnal album, with the right emotional charge and an underlying intent that transcends domestic boundaries to approach, with a certain success, the international scene: Mauro Mercande, Pietro Metullio, and Matteo Bologna have clear ideas and, although Slowflash is not destined to change the history of music, it presents itself as an excellent starting point.

Now our band can only continue down this path, hoping that the second album will add a bit more personality and originality, so as to reach the hearts not only of those nostalgic for the nineties but also for those who, in 2014, feel the need for new sounds.
