2nd SELF-PRODUCED ALBUM FOR LEXUS, who, for the occasion, employs two seasoned musicians on bass and electronic drums. The CD consists of 4 tracks already presented in the two previous EPs: "Valium" and "Nostalgie Catartiche" from the EP "Nostalgie Catartiche" and the instrumentals "Samsara" and "Lexus" from the EP "Lexus," which have been extensively covered in previous reviews of the artist.
I will focus on the recently released tracks of this CD titled "Petali Di Piombo," a descriptive title that I dare say is fitting for what the musician from Bergamo proposes to our ears. The lyrics have seen a marked improvement, as have the music, which has become less tranquil compared to the early days and more attuned to themes like anger and frustration, which Lexus has always tried to express in the form of notes. Tracks like "Pugni" or "Salvaguardare" are thus more inclined in this direction, expressing a more rock vein in the song structures, while tracks like "Nature" or "Ricordi" further and better accentuate the melodic inclinations already expressed in previous works.
In summary, it’s a 4/5, although, as is natural for music listeners, tastes are subjective, and certainly, someone may not appreciate it. But all in all, Lexus' offering has significantly improved, and the advice is to continue on this path. For those interested, I recommend retrieving the previous EPs: the famous "Nostalgie Catartiche," Lexus' first short-distance attempt, and "Lexus," and visiting the singer and guitarist's webpage at: www.myspace.com/lexusbergamo.
