THE REVIEW

Most of us, when writing a review of a film, an album, or a book, nine times out of ten, do so because we like that film, album, or book.

I'm also among those nine, however, this review is about a film that I did not like.

Actually, what I didn't like about this film is the leading man, director, one-man-show screenwriter Leonardo Pieraccioni.

I don't know and perhaps I don't want to know why this man has been so successful and continues to make films that do pretty well, I'd say.

Luckily, now there's Checco Zalone, who I at least find likeable, and perhaps Pieraccioni is left with the crumbs (I don't know, I should look it up but I don't feel like it).

I mean, the film has some funny ideas; it's not entirely worthless, there's also Rocco Papaleo who, for better or worse, has his own reason for being, although perhaps he's become rather unbearable over time.

In short, Pieraccioni. A dull actor, always with the same potato face, the same expression, always with the same tone of voice.

The king of the dull, the monarch of the mediocre, the prince of the "ordinary."

Perhaps it's precisely in these noble titles that I have just bestowed upon him that the secret of his success lies, but I don't know, whatever...

He doesn't make you laugh, he doesn't evoke any emotion, he never surprises.

Predictable, foreseeable, banal, just like the ending of the film.

And yet there's something... it's a bit like that argument about millions of flies eating shit, and they can't be wrong.

Well, I like chocolate.
