LA RECENSIONE

The album "Tacet" by singer-songwriter Leonardo Gallato arrives from the warm and beautiful Sicily, a record with diverse souls and a calibrated innovation of sounds and words. The opening track titled "Vientu" is the real opener that many might imagine, a true sonic "ride" divided between a driving rhythm guitar and electronic sounds and powerful, full-bodied saxophones that manage to give the listener a good jolt, as if to say: “This isn't the usual storytelling album that will make you sleep peaceful dreams.” Not for nothing "Vientu" is one of the singles from the album, an excellent calling card for those who want to express themselves with style and determination. The journey continues with "Notturno," a true anthem to deep and visceral love, a slow and sublime ballad that would bring tears to the eyes of any melancholic romantic. The album continues along the same lines but with lots of surprises, especially in terms of arrangements and compositions. In fact, “Tacet” has many characteristics, and one of them is surely the desire to be original and full of feelings, because otherwise how would one live without them? Tracks worthy of attention (like all of them, of course) are definitely (aside from the singles) "Comu Ciova Ciovi Fora" and "Matinata," especially in the latter track you can see how even something as ancient as a dialect can meet an excellent "modernity" in the use of loops and overlapping sounds that make everything very interesting and fascinating. Leonardo Gallato is thus one of those singer-songwriters who nurtures a scene like the Italian one, full of talents to discover that too often and willingly are sidelined because they are not full of hype or "things that young people like." An artist to discover, without a shadow of a doubt, at any time of the day.
