Leonard Nimoy (1931–2015) was an American actor, director, photographer and author, best known for portraying Spock in Star Trek.

Nimoy directed films including Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home and Star Trek III: The Search for Spock; he released spoken-word and music albums and authored books such as I Am Spock.

Two DeBaser reviews discuss Nimoy's direction of Star Trek IV, noting its environmental theme and tonal shift, and a negative take on his comedy Three Men and a Baby. Overall reception here is mixed: one review finds high points in the saga, the other calls a comedy forgettable.

For:Star Trek fans, Leonard Nimoy enthusiasts, film students, sci-fi readers

Nimoy's environmentally themed thesis is that, by carelessly disposing of natural resources, including animal species, man can artificially intervene in a millennia-old cycle, removing a keystone that causes a chain decay of the entire structure.
