What is genius? It is instinct, shrewdness, unruliness... and in some cases even wickedness. But this is not the case here.
This sublime piece was absolutely not understood at the SanRemo Festival 1993 and unfortunately did not make it to the finals in the song event of the Riviera dei Fiori.
Posterity will give the rightful and deserved glory to the immense Leo Leandro. Here is the text:
I walk out the door and then away
You're always there under my house
You wave, look at me and walk away
And then you turn, oh my
And you chew something, what is it, what is it
We go to the bar, I’ll have a coffee
You take lots of candies
I look at you and feel shivers on my skin
Apricot candy, look at that mouth
Blackberry candy, look at her, she's beautiful
Candy, hold me tight, but so much fruit
I ask you for a kiss and you get ugly
Pear candy, what a treat
Apple candy too, what a pear-shaped breast
Come to my house tonight
But come alone, you laugh in my face and run away
I no longer need the alarm clock
One ring, and I already know it’s you
You think of me, I think of you more
You're sixteen, but just look at you
By now I've left those years behind
But I like you too much though
You eat too many candies, run away and leave shivers on my skin
Apricot candy, look at that mouth
Blackberry candy, look at her, she's beautiful
Candy, hold me tight, but so much fruit
I ask you for a kiss and you get ugly
Pear candy, what a treat
Apple candy too, what a pear-shaped breast
Come to my house tonight
But come alone, you laugh in my face and run away.
An artist of a thousand faces, colorful, varied, blended, not too laid back, shaken but slightly stirred.
What happened to you, Leo?

"Imagine a shady figure worthy of the worst betting centers in Fuorigrotta, a cross between an illegal parking attendant, Gigione and a sex maniac on leave."
"The oboe solo turns out to be a failure, a flatulent sound that would have made even the most stoic Buster Keaton die laughing."
