It was 2003, Aqua, the famous Danish group of "Barbie Girl" (by the way, the Barbie movie was just released), had been disbanded for 2 years. Lene Nystrøm decided to pursue a solo career after her marriage to another member of Aqua, releasing the first single from the album "It's Your Duty," achieving moderate success even in Italy, reaching #19 on the FIMI chart. The following year, "Pretty Young Thing" and "Here We Go" were also released as promotional singles, revealing themselves to be commercial flops, but the latter was covered by Girls Aloud, the famous British girl band, who included it in their 2004 album.

And what about Lene's first and only album? In my opinion, the album is an approach to her character, who is known worldwide only for Aqua's hit, leaving this pop masterpiece in the dark. Most of the tracks are written by her, and I dare say this is much better than many of her other releases with the group. All the tracks are catchy and it's completely skip-free. Personally, I'm not a fan of Aqua, but I really like this album, perfect for my bus journeys. Highly recommended!!

P.S. If you don't like that I review music from the '90s and 2000s instead of today's crap, don't follow me and don't respond, just ignore me.
