A book that sounds... Bit Generation

Have you ever heard of a book that sounds??

I'm not crazy, it's possible. And it happens, when an esteemed professor explains his subject, not inside a university classroom, but in a recording studio with a microphone in hand and rhythm in his veins. This is what Lello Savonardo does. Professor, sociologist, and singer-songwriter. Music has been a part of his life since he was four years old when he started studying piano. Then, the study of music was set aside to favor his burgeoning career, first as a researcher and then as a university professor.

Author of numerous sociology texts, translated and published not only in Italy, he decides to reach his students through an album. Bit Generation. And it's not the rebellious generation of the 60s (beat generation). In this case, the Bit Generation is today's generation.

Today, "bit" indeed means connection, sharing, and participation. The Bit Generation is nourished by and expresses itself through software culture. A selfie generation, searching for an identity, fragments of celebrity. It's a generation that isn't just watching, it wants to express itself through the world of social media, for global connection and sharing.

Bit Generation is an album of 12 tracks, where the subject of a lifetime's study is accompanied by delightful sounds suspended between dub reggae, electronics, and singer-songwriter music.

The album features numerous guests, from Edoardo Bennato to the renowned scholar Derrick de Kerckhove.

"Freedom is participation" quotes the professor/singer-songwriter in one of his songs. A phrase by Gaber, which better could not define today. Looking back means moving forward.

An album that deserves to be listened to, for what it wants to communicate.
