July 14, 2006, Brianteo Stadium.

This is where the fantastic concert of Lee Ryan took place. I arrived at 1:00 PM, and there were already some people in front of the gates; it was scorching hot. Time was dragging on, yet I had to endure until 7:00 PM, the time when the gates would open. Finally, 7:00 PM arrived... as soon as the gates opened, it was chaos; everyone was running to get a front-row seat.

Magically, I found myself a spot in the second row, and even though everyone was in the stands, the view was excellent, although I would have preferred to be under the stage. At 8:30 PM, Joe Damiani came on to open the concert, just like in December. After singing a few songs, he left. Ten minutes were left before Lee Ryan would take the stage; those ten minutes finally passed, and to the notes of "Jump" Lee stepped in, leaving us all in awe with his wonderful voice. After "Jump", it was the turn of "Turn Your Car Around", the second single from his first album, "Lee Ryan". After this track, all the other pieces from the CD followed, and then Lee introduced us to three new tracks that will be part of the new CD, expected to be released in October. The tracks are titled "Peaches", a song very different from Lee's style, a song full of grit, in the rock n' roll style! then "Suffice To Say" and "Light Of Your Soul". The latter, just as Lee said during the concert, is dedicated to all religions and those who practice them, but above all to one religion, the religion of PEACE.

After introducing us to his new songs, in memory of the old days he sang some tracks of the Blue, "Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word", "Too Close", "One Love" and "A Chi Mi Dice", the English version of which was written by him. At that moment, the crowd was ecstatic, everyone, without exception, was singing; so much so that Lee at one point sat down on the stage and let us sing, visibly moved and proud of us. The concert was closed with "Army of Lovers", the first single from his debut album. On the last notes of this song Lee left the stage, thanking us. This concert was an indescribable emotion, an emotion that you can only feel by being there singing with him. A concert is the best thing for a fan, but also for the artist. I hope there will be another one soon!
