THE REVIEW

..the thing that surprises me the most every time I listen to "Physical Graffiti" by Led Zeppelin is the absolute modernity of the sounds and musical insights that, even after 34 years, still have so much to say.

Here there are some absolute milestones of rock: "kashmir" is brilliant, never having heard it means missing a great slice of rock music; "in the light" is another masterpiece with an oriental flavor, majestic; "in my time of dying" is a work that draws inspiration from the blues breaking into metal: every single member of the Leds showcases skill, technique, brilliance, and everything is perfectly cohesive: here they are unattainable for anyone; "trampled under foot" is funky-rock, with Plant's vocal interpretation being astonishing; "custard pie", "the rover", "sick again", "the wanton song": are true hard rock gems; even the improvisations are surprising and, in my opinion, not simple fillers ("black country woman", "bron-yr-aur" and the crazy "boogie with stu"); finally, we must mention the ballad "ten years gone", magnificently sweet and melancholic.

Too many words about this work are superfluous in my opinion... let's leave room for the music... let it reach the heart and ears of those who want it...

..with this double album the Zep wrote rock music and delivered it to posterity for centuries to come...
