English hard rock band best known for the 1971 album Growers Of Mushroom.

Members on the Growers Of Mushroom lineup included Peter French (vocals), Mick Halls (guitar), Keith Young (drums), Derek Brooks (guitar) and Stuart Brooks (bass). The band's name was inspired by a Herbert Van Thal horror anthology. The album was recorded at Mayfair Spot Studios in London in just 12 hours; an initial German release omitted the title track and "Freelance Fiend," and Decca released the complete album in 1971 after the group had already disbanded.

DeBaser's review celebrates Leaf Hound's 1971 album Growers Of Mushroom as a raw, genuine hard-rock record with clear blues roots and psychedelic touches. The album was recorded at Mayfair Spot Studios in London in just 12 hours. The review highlights standout tracks such as "Freelance Fiend," "Drowned My Life In Fear," and the title track, and praises Peter French's powerful vocals.

For:Fans of early 1970s hard rock, blues rock and collectors of obscure classic albums.
