LA RECENSIONE

With this CD, which includes fourteen tracks plus a ghost track, Le Vibrazioni have shown a remarkable step forward compared to their first work from various points of view, starting with the lyrics; perhaps we miss the musical moments and the long solos that characterized singles like "Non dimenticarmi mai" or "Guardami e costringimi", but the arrangements and the music are meticulous and of notable beauty.

The song that opens the album is "Aspettando": a short introduction made with the sitar is a sort of prologue to the work (which indeed is a mix of rock, pop, and sounds that appear more exotic) and in fact, it stands out from the rock sound of the guitars that accompany the song. The bass in the verses is beautiful and worth noting in the background is the frontman's dog "singing" along with its owner's words. Then it moves on to "Angelica", a rhythmic song with great lyrics, perhaps just a bit repetitive.

More catchy and commercial is the lovely "Raggio di sole", but it is only a brief return to pop because then it goes wild with "Immagina". From here, the CD seems to change course, and the sounds become more mystical and oriental; this is the case with the melodic and somewhat too slow "Lisergica", the beautiful "Musa", and "Ogni giorno ad ogni ora", a song that transports you to a medieval chivalrous atmosphere with the notes of the electric guitar.

Then come the songs of reflection on our society and the world today: the sweet "In un mondo diverso" and the beautiful and sarcastic "Sanguinaria", a typical anti-war and anti-American song where the use of the sitar, a typical Middle Eastern instrument, supports the theme of the song.

Next is the Sanremo-style ballad "Ovunque andrò" and the rock of "I desideri delle anime dannate", ending with two very sentimental and introspective songs: "l'angolo buio" is appreciated for a splendid final solo, while "E non aver paura di vivere" is a mix of amazing music and lyrics. The album seems to end, but there is indeed "Alice nel paese delle meraviglie", a fairy-tale and engaging ghost track. The album is therefore excellent musically and good regarding the lyrics.

The only potentially negative note is that the album is constantly teetering between rock and pop, without ever truly settling into one of the two genres.
