Two albums in one... Bright Red and Tightrope. Two souls coexisting. This album is a true masterpiece where poetry blends with sounds as seamlessly as rarely happens. I believe I'm not mistaken in claiming that this CD represents the highest creative moment of Laurie Anderson: The lyrics are deep and touching, the music refined and enveloping, expertly recorded with truly remarkable technical quality.

The production of Bright Red began with a series of faxes between Laurie Anderson and Brian Eno. A correspondence that was "a mix of daydreams about the future of music, theories on the use of language in music, practical schemes to avoid the usual traps, and drafts of soundscapes". Words from Anderson herself that also reveal the great intellectual force contained in the 14 tracks that make up the CD. The fact that Brian Eno ultimately produced the album is a guarantee of sonic perfection where unique rhythmic bases, keyboards, and guitar blend with elegant electronic effects, enhancing Laurie Anderson's voice to the fullest.

In the second part of the CD, Tightrope, the music becomes unpredictable and imaginative. But I won't say more... it's an exciting album from start to finish. Luminous and enchanted.
