Late evening. Summer. Empty city. Vacant streets. Rome, but it could be Paris. London. New York? Car speeding through the empty streets. Lights and shadows. Street lamps. Darkness. Asphalt rushing by. Fresh air from the open windows. Curve. Straightaway. Curve. Faster and faster. Always. More. Faster. Music at full volume fills the ears. Saturates the air. Blasts. This is "Dangerous Drive".

Not try this at Home!

Wind blowing. Gently wafting. Insistent rhythms. Building. Microvariation after microvariation. Melody (oh my). Noise. Obsessive and repetitive. Growing. Diminishing. Dark. Swirling and swirling. Again and again. Like a recurring thought. Repetitive. To the point of obsession. This is "Forgotten Thoughts".

Just a taste of Laurent Garnier's music. Someone who managed to bring something new out of Techno. From House. Who mixed, what am I saying, liquefied the obsessive and relentless sounds of Techno with the sultry rhythms of Jazz. With House. Dark and cursed atmospheres with orgiastic dances. Music of the new millennium. Sounds from the future. From deep space.

But it's not just that. "Unreasonable Behaviour" is a perpetual party. Heads moving. Sweat. Heat. Heavenly party. But also lascivious like the Jazz rhythms and obsessive like Techno. House. It gets inside you. Seduces you and abandons you. Makes your insides move. Bewitches you. Unmissable. Essential.

This is a tribute to New York, Detroit and Chicago.

Cities full of soul, vision and inspiration.
Experimenting with deep sounds for so long.

It's now time to give you...thanks.
With much...respect.

This is the text of the concluding "Last Tribute from the 20th Century"

Laurent doesn't (need to) thank anyone. His record is perfect. And down there. Across the ocean. In the new continent. Detroit. Chicago. They cannot but be happy. The seeds have germinated overseas. And what has blossomed is something surprising. That enchants. A new variety. A new rhythm. More than a tribute. More than an homage.

It's a new beginning. A new arrival. (Let yourself be bewitched). Trust it.
