Acondroplasia: many people will have grasped the main aspect of the imaginative protagonist Joséphine de la Marre aka Mimi Mathy,
and will recognize, in terms of Tenacity, the inverse proportionality.
In the first five seasons of the so-far-successful French drama series, the actress showcased her earthly and otherworldly charm,
and the themes on which almost all of the released 15 episodes were based could be called "good", and the plot was quite realistic, something that is recorded with much less frequency in subsequent ones, tending towards an embellished portrayal of workmanship that barely avoids being cheap: it should be noted, however, that the 6th, 7th, 8th, and the ninth season—from 2011—are still unreleased this side of the Alps and the Straits of Bonifacio.
Specifically, the themes included: legal disputes over property, families in crisis where nobody cares about anyone, smuggling of heavy alcohol and hallucinogens in the cities, excessive exploitation of animals in circuses, bullying-racism in schools and rugby stadiums, cases of cyclical corruption in local and regional politics,
the presumptuous and selfish ambition in the Fashion and journalism industry, and, a subject dear to any serious Debaserico, the prominence of the BEAUTIFUL trend Overcrowded discos-pill-night pranks-deaths for the thrill in recent generations, complete with Techno mono-chord background! The same horde of individuals who have the little star/the minion/the pop collaboration of unbearably repetitive and vacuous pop in their headphones or -if we consider the current nonscene- spits and belches electro-trap=deliberately almost unpronounceable. Some episodes where Jo dealt with the "fooleries" that are easy to solve obviously didn't please me
AND THEN, WHO WOULDN'T LONG FOR, IN THE MIDST OF INJUSTICE OR AT THE PEAK OF MEDIOCRITY, THE TINY ANGEL FROM BENGODI-or from wherever- TO APPEAR AND TAME "the disgusts" WITH THREE FLICK THUMB-MIDDLE?
4 stars, with reservation,
Yves
