What should we complain about? Every child of a member of an important group, just because of that, has the right to make a record. Yet here we are, turning up our noses at their first "exciting" work. The Harris family's little one, like all her peers, nurtures dreams of glory (others dream, for example, of becoming showgirls, which would be better in this case?), her father rightfully supported her, got her to make a record, and took her on tour with him, loading her with responsibilities that turned out to be a bit too excessive.

Faced with all this, did you really believe that "Calm before the Storm" would become a valid album? A handful of songs mostly written by others, so much pop "à la Avril Lavigne" and just a very brief dash of hard rock, could not have contributed to an album that's at best mediocre. Everything, and I really mean everything, collapses into repetition. Although featuring a flat and stretched chorus, perhaps the only song that, in small parts, is saved is "Steal your fire", with which, even live, it slightly lifts the fortunes of any of her concerts, in front of an audience that most of the time can't wait for her performance to end to watch the actual beloved band of the evening. Exactly, so far, Lauren Harris, with her inseparable group, has only opened for internationally renowned bands like Within Temptation and Iron Maiden. I strongly suspect that the great Steve Harris has not pointed out to her how lame her live performances are (well, she is his daughter!), especially since the songs she released were just thrown out there without any claims. If the young Miss Harris is satisfied with this, I can easily advise her to immediately change profession so that the audience doesn't get really restless and might suddenly turn against her and, albeit flaunting, against the bassist and founder of one of the major heavy metal bands like Iron Maiden. If she wants to continue this career instead, she should rely on her own compositional skills (if she has them, who knows), she should take charge of the group and start working seriously to produce songs that respect and at least partly achieve what so many other metal bands have already done. With these little songs, at most, she could make a great impression in venues of kids who go there just to have a pleasant evening, but to really make a mark, much more is needed, and this is already apparent from the start.

Is there any song capable of conveying emotions? It would be better to change the subject because with these little songs, very few people could indeed be convinced. Daddy Harris should understand that taking his daughter on tour with these pieces will end up ruining her without ever having had the chance to really show what she's worth.

Despite possessing an uncommon beauty and charm, I think she herself has realized the reaction from critics and the public. The choice is hers now...
