There are moments when you have too much to say and you prefer to remain silent: at least that's how it often is for me.

Then, there are things to remember: to put them in black and white. Share, leave them to posterity, and blah, blah, blah...

There are friends who hate the "but maybe not" that I could have added at the end of the two lines above: I know they'll understand (even if I haven't written them).

The fact is, this is a review where I could indulge in clichés and banalities: yes, indeed, it would be nice to write lightheartedly something like "it surprises the ability of the singer-songwriter to be so minimal yet still manage to mix so much roughness and so much delicacy."

I might attempt to dazzle you with pseudo-paranormal effects like "in my opinion, she made a mistake releasing it in Spring because it would've been better on a cold, clear Winter night when the asterism Sirius-Betelgeuse-Procyon seems touchable with a finger."

Laura Marling has a lot of anger, whether it’s positive or negative, it doesn't matter, inside (at least for those who can still understand her without the need for screams and various noises) you can feel it despite, in the end, this being just a Folk-Rock album dominated by voice and guitar with mellifluous songs alternating with various nerviness.

On the fourth album, from my point of view, she still hasn't missed a beat and it's starting to become an interesting "series"...

Blessed are the simple souls who find it unsettling that it can appeal even to the masses: they will see the doors of Paradise open.
