Last Minute to Jaffna

The Turin-based group in question, dealing with their first promo, strikes (and heavily) with the quality of the recording, entirely done at home (the only thing that doesn't stand out fully is the rhythm section, but the result is nonetheless astonishing) and with the charisma they have infused in the 23 minutes of this work.

"Down", the title of the first of two tracks, is a restless wounded wild animal: the slow initial approach, almost Neurosis-like, is the fury it feels from being struck, the scream represents the wound, the very cause that has inflicted pain upon it. The following period, introspective and clearly inspired by Isis "Oceanic", breaks the rhythm intelligently, as if the dazed animal reminds itself what it once was to gather strength and flee to safety, away from other potential threats. But it is relentlessly hunted and, to quell the desire of not feeling at the mercy of predators stronger than it, it leaps from a cliff: the finale is the echo of its fall, of all its torments: absolutely spectacular and impactful. 
"Heating the Blood" instead is the scene of a murder: the Tool-influenced intro is the planning of the mad act that will inevitably become incontrovertible reality: Again, the Neurosis, the marked, tight riff is the repeated stabbing, the growl, the representation of madness behind the insane act. Then suddenly the scene changes; the eyes have become those of the victim, the melodic opening, epic in its mood, is the life slipping away from the body, observing the executioner with eyes of disbelief. Then stop. It returns to the killer with the Drone noise typical of SunnO))). It is the point of no return, the guilt and bewilderment felt by someone who realizes they have committed a horrible act for which they can find no remedy. Slowly the guitar returns to its vibrations, and the ghosts of madness begin to nest in the mind of someone who still has strength within their body: what else could those frightening voices at the end of the track be but the torment in the sick mind of a killer? Another restart, the last one. With the mind annihilated by nightmares, now is the time to flee. Give it a listen and don't lose sight of them.
