I believe Last Day Of Summer perfectly embody the mental state we all experience when faced with the last day of vacation: nostalgia and desolation. Removing the second factor, in the first, we find the key to access this EP “I Remember Nothing”: alternative rock with strong dark hues and enormous commercial potential. A trio that suddenly kicks things off with a Bayside-style track like “Try For Me” - a classic radio hit - and then surprises everyone with “This Story So Far”, a track where we find Vinx from Vanilla Sky guest-starring (and also producing the mini) whose unique vocal timbre fits perfectly with that of Last Day Of Summer's singer, who in my opinion has excellent vocal range and interpretation. Compared to most bands related to alternative rock, these guys have taken care to avoid the classic crossover into pop-punk (something that now practically everyone is tired of), aiming mostly for a sound and general mood that closely resembles what is most popular in the current Brit-rock scene. Five tracks (plus the acoustic version of the single “Worst Day”) are more than enough business cards to say that we are in front of an interesting band, which has little in common with what is trending in Italy and precisely because of this reason must be highly considered. Simply successful, “I Remember Nothing” deserves more than a few listens, thanks to an intelligent artistic project and an outstanding singer.
