"FAR FROM THE SUN"

1965. The value of the image, the word and the sound is indisputable, words and images mix in our daily life, the rule is to feel connected to something that ultimately isn't there, the illusion of belonging to something, of being an integral part of a superstructural mechanism that allows us to survive.

The vocabulary shrinks, the verbs are those of consumption, words have less intrinsic meaning, the social and the concrete arrive at contradiction.

Visual poetry is Italian ground, Nanni Balestrini, Antonio Porta, Eugenio Miccini, Lamberto Pignotti are the most important exponents and although it is not correct to speak of Italian exclusivity, let the Americans who would like to have invented and discovered everything themselves not take offense, in that land of "convicts and whores" as my grandfather used to repeat.
