It's difficult to place a group like this within the metal scene, because "in my humble opinion," no one else had expressed, with such music, such a sick sweetness. The album is a valid example of what we call "Gothic Metal," but it offers atmospheres that are not dark and menacing, but rather creates airs that are more sad and afflicted, yet also presents strong prog-rock and even folk influences; each song is characterized by strong melancholy: never predictable and invariably desperate; finally, the orchestral arrangements make the album magically appealing and accessible to everyone.
This artwork testimony is divided into more introspective tracks, like "Not every pain hurts", with an accordion intro like circus music and "Stolzes Herz," even more depressing; and more elaborate, complex, and hard songs, like Siehst du mich im licht, Make it end, Deine nahe, which, as mentioned before, reflect various Prog elements, especially in terms of length.
Excellent album from this German duo. Do not expect the pop of the Cure or the metal of Nightwish and Evanescence, because the only thing they share is the malaise they know how to transmit to our minds; moreover, they do not use keyboards, "unlike many others," and instead use arrangements typically belonging to classical music.
