LA RECENSIONE

I find myself writing a review even though I don't have any expertise in the matter, but considering that debasio is also made for this, so why not?

The work I'm writing about is titled My Mamma, by La Rappresentante di Lista, released on March 5, 2021, by the independent label Woodworm, in collaboration with RCA Numero Uno.

The album cover portrays the drawing of a naked woman's body with her legs spread, referencing L'origine du monde by Gustave Courbet.

The album includes 13 tracks, comprising an introduction (Preludio) and two interludes (Lavinia and Invasione), it opens with a rather light track like Religiosamente, continuing with Oh ma oh pa, a reference to parents, but perhaps also to grandparents, since "Oh ma" sounds like "Oma" (grandmother in German) and "Oh pa" like "Opa" (grandfather in German). Then comes Alieno, the first single, a much more "rhythmic" track, noteworthy also for the guitar solo, followed by Fragile, the only track with a male voice, and Sarà. Proceeding with Amare, a single performed at Sanremo 2021, a rather "liberating" track, afterwards Very Good Glenn Gould and the ballad Paesaggi Stranieri. This leads to what I consider the best track on the album: Resistere, a track more spoken than sung, where the theme of fear is tackled, and the importance of, indeed, resisting is emphasized.

The album concludes with Mai Mamma, an excellent conclusion for an album that, in my opinion, is of fine quality.

Allow me to leave one last comment to conclude: as far as I am concerned, talent and originality are not lacking, even though LRDL may sometimes appear repetitive in this album, therefore I don't feel like instantly declaring it a masterpiece, but they certainly deserve the 4 stars.
