La Maschera Di Cera is a band from Genoa dedicated to rediscovering and enhancing the sound of the '70s, that dreamy and imaginative sound of the great season of Italian rock.
Since its formation in 2001, the group has produced two studio albums and one live album. They have brought to the European stages the sound and musicality for which Italy is arguably remembered in the annals of international rock. Performing in Belgium, Switzerland, Portugal, and Spain, MDC has garnered unanimous acclaim and criticism because their live show is synonymous with pure passion and engagement.

LuxAde, the formation's third studio album, arrives three years after the previous "Il Grande Labirinto." This time, the work is directed and the album produced by the hand of one of the architects of the sound that La Maschera Di Cera is inspired by: Franz Di Cioccio, frontman and drummer of PFM. His experience in production has allowed the group and their project to make a qualitative leap, highlighting all the qualities that make La Maschera di Cera a solid contemporary band. The overall sound of the album is the result of a blend between an intriguing taste for seventies atmospheres and energy that looks to the current rock scenarios. A fascinating symphonic touch underscores the richness of the musical writing.

The album consists of seven tracks and spans broadly from darkness to light and vice versa, offering brilliant moments and others that are introspective. Diverse elements, including hard rock, are emphasized by the rhythmic vigor of Maurizio Di Tollo, while the compositions, supported by the rigorously vintage keyboards of Agostino Macor, find sudden breaths characterized by Andrea Monetti's flute. MDC does not use electric guitars (except for some brief acoustic guitar interventions). Instead, the sound of Fabio Zuffanti's distorted bass is highlighted, making the overall sound even more distinctive, like a true trademark.
Above all, flies the eruptive and communicative expressiveness of vocalist Alessandro Corvaglia, whose voice extends across a broad spectrum of timbres.

The transitions from shadows to light are also echoed in the lyrics, which tell of different characters continuously searching for the light after, for different reasons, they have been confined in darkness.
It is the metaphor of a man who always strives for the best even if he has to daily face the adversities of life. It is a gallery of protagonists within an introspective journey:
a prisoner in the depths of a volcano dreams of freeing himself to see the dawn over the sea ("Doppia Immagine"), a polar explorer begins his journey to escape the daily life, proving to be something better than an ordinary man ("Un Senso all'Impossibile"). There is also a retelling from the myth of Orpheus in a dreamlike sound fresco ("Orpheus") and finally, the saga of the madness of a friar ("Enciclica 1168") who "in the name of God" (as happened in the past and still does today) uses the power of words to achieve material power. The characters of LuxAde, blinded by the light they seek in vain, will return to the dark, but it is from the dark they will restart to seek the light again, in a never-ending journey.
