Rating: "White Diamond" is the new double DVD by Kylie Minogue that tells the story of the mega comeback of this small yet great artist to the global pop music scene.
The first DVD - White Diamonds - is a documentary produced by William Backer, a friend and stylist of Kylie for many years, where Minogue herself recounts her return to the stage through images (among the various chapters around the world, Minogue and her entourage find themselves in Milan at the home of Dolce & Gabbana). The documentary also features Dannii Minogue, Kylie's sister and a singer herself, and even Bono from U2. With both, Kylie performs a duet in Kids, the song she performed with Robbie Williams in 2000.
The documentary is very special and moving, yet also fun and intriguing. Many songs play in the background (one among them is Alone Again written by Madonna and sung by Kylie).
The second DVD - the showgirl homecoming tour - features the first official date on stage in Australia of the Princess of Pop in May 2006. An elegant show, full of feathers and beautiful costumes from D&G to Chanel, within which Kylie revisits the best of her career. She also sings the new song White Diamonds, which indeed gives its name to the double DVD, written and produced by the Scissor Sisters.
I recommend this double DVD to everyone because it is a surprise among a thousand surprises.
