THE REVIEW

While in 2002 Madonna was touring Europe with her long "Drowned World Tour" (which followed the release of the best "Ghv2" in 2001), her colleague Kylie Minogue was finally engaged in a mega world tour in support of her album "Fever," which, thanks to the planetary success of various singles "Can't Get You Out of My Head," "In Your Eyes," and "Love at First Sight," made her the undisputed queen of pop in 2002.

At the MTV Europe Music Awards of that year, Kylie received 3 awards: Best Pop, Best Album, and Best Tour. In short, Madonna had her rival.

The "Fever 2002" is a gigantic show, unlike Minogue's previous tours since she has been singing live since 1988 in her performances.

Created by Kylie herself, along with her friend, stylist and creator William Baker, this tour had an Italian date on June 16, 2002, at the Filaforum in Assago, Milan.

An immense stage, with a splendid staircase, exits front, back, right, and left for the dance team made up of very lively dancers; giant screens on which videos, images, and scenes of Kylie for the tour were reproduced.

The setlist includes everything from the latest hits, including "Come Into My World," to famous oldies like "Confide in Me" in a more midtempo version, with a stunning voice; the old glories of the 80s "The Locomotion," "I Should Be So Lucky" (towards an elegant R&B), "Spinning Around," "On a Night Like This," "Kids" (but without Robbie Williams). "Better the Devil You Know" that takes you back to the 90s.

The album "Fever" includes many tracks like the title track and also "Burning Up," not Madonna's.

There are many covers from "I Feel Love" by Donna Summer (which Madonna will replicate in her Confessions Tour three years later), to "Rhythm of the Night" mixed with "In Your Eyes"; all of it raising the level of already boiling temperature.

Last, by necessity, is "Can't Get You Out of My Head," which still in 2013 has the whole world dancing, an impactful single, hot like the Australian performer herself.

"Fever 2002" is not only to be seen but also to be known, scrutinized, understood; in the DVD, there's a backstage video that also tells much of

Kylie Minogue's career.
