LA RECENSIONE

Some time ago, someone handed me this album, describing it as "True Black Metal". I imagined the great black metal classics that still make your eyes shine today.

The cover, too minimal and too gaudy at the same time, with the usual baphomet symbol didn't convince me right away. Yet, at the first vibrations from my speakers, a kind of vision struck my mind like lightning, and my eyes widened. I had the clear sensation, as a famous character said in a well-known movie, that the upcoming sound waves could be "an unbelievable piece of crap".

But it was still too early to draw any conclusions. The intro had just begun, and the shrill and very annoying voice of a guy (in this track, as a Special Guest, none other than The Colonel of Frangar) was uttering verses that somehow seemed to lead to something truly dark and evil, with some Gregorian chants in the background snatched from who knows which New Age piece to enhance the atmosphere.

As for the rest of the tracks, I found the drums fake, the bass virtually non-existent, the guitar imprecise and too buzzing, with very fast almost random picked riffs, and the voice of the bald Lord Astaroth (lots of originality) who, like an old screechy lady, babbles his satanic lyrics, uuuuuh.

Minimal graphics, 4 pages of booklet, and a ridiculous photo that says it all about the members, caught in a forced grimace, with their faces covered in black and white paint.

The lyrics are not included, unfortunately, but from the tracks, it's too often clear the exalted name "Sataaaan" and other phrases the singer overuses: "Satan fucking blood", "Fucking something else", "Fucking fucking", "Satanic satan", "Fucking power" etc.

I conclude by waiting for the new work of this band, which apparently has caught on with a certain audience. This perhaps indicates that live they could be a valid proposition, or alternatively, that the range of lobotomized people is increasing.
